Coupland Bell became acredited with the Manufacturing Advisory Service in both the West Midlands and East Midlands. Eligible companies in the region receive grant support for our range of services.

Collaboration with a boat builder is sought, for further development of the amphibious RIB.

Danuta Hübner, the European Commissioner for the Regions, visited Warwick University in September 2005.

During her visit, she was introduced to Mark Evans, Chief Designer of the Amphibious RIB. Ms Hübner had a tour of the prototype craft and could immediately see an application for it in her own country, Poland, which suffered severe flooding during the summer.

Coupland Bell was commended by the British Marine Federation and the Institute of Navel Architects for its Amphibious RIB design.

The Princess Royal attended the Schroeders London Boat Show to see the short-listed entries for the Concept Boat competition. There was significant interest in the competition entries from all over the world.

The competition judges described the Amphibious RIB as "an interesting combination of different technologies to provide a high tech amphibious craft."
